Commercial and Industrial Qualifications

WEC has extensive experience in commercial and industrial applications related to shoring and underpinning. Our solutions help to optimize use of space, maintain OSHA regulations during construction and minimize disturbance to existing ground and structures.

Shoring Applications

Underpinning Applications

  • Foundation construction over poor soil conditions
  • Restore support to existing foundations that are settling
  • Vertical tie-downs to resist buoyancy or wind loads
  • Underpinning can be achieved using micropiles and helical piers.

Residential Qualifications

Our residential methods provide solutions to such problems as...
  • Foundation construction over poor soil conditions
  • Restoration of support to existing foundations that are settling
  • Restoration of support to failing retaining walls or below-grade foundation walls
  • Restoration of support to chimneys that have settled and are leaning

Foundation Settlement
Underpinning provides an attractive solution to foundation settlement. Symptoms include cracks in interior and exterior walls and windows and doors that will not open and close freely. After restoring support, it is often possible to lift the structure closer to its original elevation. Foundation underpinning can be achieved using micropiles and helical piers.

Chimney
Underpinning provides a permanent solution to chimney settlement and rotation. This situation is usually apparent when the chimney begins to lean away from the house and space is created between the chimney and structure. Chimney underpinning can be achieved using micropiles and helical piers.

Retaining Wall Repair
Tie Back anchors provide a non-destructive fix to failing retaining walls of many types including timber walls, stone walls, block walls and basement walls. Tieback anchors can include drilled and grouted tieback anchors and helical tieback anchors.
