Soil Nails and Micropiles for Support of Old Building
Excavation next to an old multi-story brick building required underpinning of the buildings exterior wall and soil nails to stabilize the exposed soils. WEC installed 3½" micropiles with footing brackets along the exterior wall. Soil nails were installed for temporary lateral stability.
Micropiles for Support of New Construction
WEC also installed 7 inch diameter micropiles for support of the new multi-story, condominium. The micropiles transferred building loads through the relatively soft overburden soils to the underlying partially weathered rock and hard rock layers.
