Wurster Engineering & Construction installed 12 micropiles, to provide vertical foundation support for the Bridge 188 in Union County, N.C.

Micropiles were installed by drilling and grouting methods and reinforced with

10-¾” OD steel casing with ½” wall thickness.

Special care was taken during the construction process to protect the endangered Carolina Heelsplitter mussel that inhabits Waxhaw Creek.
